1/4Apple Pencil (USB-C)
The iPhone Duo is the first iPhone that supports Apple Pencil, and Apple says the USB-C model will work on both the 7.6-inch inner display and the 5.4-inch outer display once the update lands later this year. We tested it on an iPad with the same nano-texture style finish and the tip has a pleasant paper-like drag rather than the skate of glossy glass. It pairs and charges over the Duo's USB-C port with the sliding cap, so there is no magnetic charging to worry about on a folding chassis. Note there is no pressure sensitivity on this model, so it is a note-taking and markup tool rather than a full illustration stylus.
Pros
- Works on both Duo displays
- Paper-like feel on nano-texture
- Charges from the Duo's USB-C port
- Low latency for notes
Cons
- No pressure sensitivity
- Pencil support arrives via later update
- Nowhere to store it on the phone
