1/5GoPro HERO (2024)
GoPro's entry-level HERO punches well above its weight for under $200. During our mountain bike trail test, the built-in HyperSmooth stabilization eliminated virtually all handlebar vibration at 4K/30fps, producing footage nearly indistinguishable from the pricier HERO13 Black in daylight conditions. At just 86 grams, it is the lightest camera we tested and slips into a pocket between shots. The 16-foot waterproof rating without a case held up perfectly during our shallow snorkeling session, though serious divers will want the optional housing.
Pros
- Smallest and lightest 4K action camera at only 86 grams
- HyperSmooth stabilization rivals premium models in daylight

- GoPro Quik app offers excellent auto-editing tools
Cons
- No front-facing screen for vlogging framing
- 12MP stills lag behind competitors with 20MP+ sensors
- Battery life capped around 100 minutes in 4K mode
